IGS (Indian Geotechnical Society) Student Chapter

IGS Student Chapter was started in February, 2018 by the Department of Civil Engineering, R.V.R. & J.C. College of Engineering under the guidance of IGS Guntur Chapter. The chapter is guided and supported by IGS Guntur Chapter

Student Chapter Activities:The activities Student Chapter can do are
  1. Host lectures by respected Engineers in their area
  2. Learn how to conduct meeting and make presentations to clients.
  3. Have seminars on how to prepare a biographical statement for a job interview
  4. Have seminars on how to prepare for job interviews.
  5. Develop oral and written communication skills by preparing presentations/articles for Magazines/Newsletters.
  6. Shall participate as volunteers & student delegates in various technical events organized by the local IGS chapter.
Constitution of Organizing Committee

The following office bearers will be appointed for "IGS Student Chapter Leadership Committee" with the help of IGS member (Faculty)

  1. A student chapter Vice-president
  2. A student chapter President
  3. A student chapter Secretary
  4. A student chapter Treasurer

Two members from faculty will be appointed as "Staff Advisors".

Student membership

All the students of Civil Engineering are eligible to become members of Student Chapter by registering their names with the Chapter and paying an amount of Rs. 200/- as registration fee. The amount will be utilized by the Chapter for conducting various activities. Students registered with IGS student chapter are eligible for concession in the registration fee for the events conducted by IGS Guntur Chapter.
